Well it is a national park visited by millions, so there must be some attraction.

I've been to Trona 3 times. Once was to see what it was like. Second time was to help a homie move some furniture he bought. Third time was to see the Pinnacles.
I've been there a few times too. A security type took exception when I set up my tripod and camera to take some photos near the plant. I took a few and he said he was calling the sheriff ; I made moved on. The next time I took photos from outside of town of the smoke stacks belching whatever it is they belch.
We better be careful, don't want to spoil this garden spot by having a bunch of tourists overrun it!

Good suggestions!

What does the crime mostly consist of in those towns, since they're small?

Domestic violence (baby daddies/mamas fighting over the kids), theft (tweakers), DUI's (the local drunks, of which there are likely many).

These are just guesses of course. Some Ridgecresters make the escape to Beatty or Pahrump (and tbh I have no idea why).

I'll be in Las Vegas tonight. I'll be thinking of you (but probably not ).

There's no crime....heck nothing's illegal in Nye County. You have to have laws before you can have crimes, lol.

Seriously, there's not much in the way of violent crimes, mostly petty theft, and not much of that. I noticed that when you check city data for crime in Pahrump, it doesn't show stats like it does for other cities. You can always check with the sheriff's office and ask them.

Beatty, NV is a quick 20 miles east of Stovepipe Wells. Stovepipe Wells is near the middle of Death Valley NP so Beatty is a yes answer to what the OP was asking about. Beatty is a motel / fuel / food stopover along US highway 95 heading north from Las Vegas so it has a few things in addition to a post office.
