What are you talking about? I was on topic about Trump proposing another federal tax cut (Federal tax reform) and you went off the rails about the Democrats and their “free stuff”. Talk about a selective memory.

He can’t stand the fact that he was wrong, went off topic, made a lot of incorrect assumptions and is too proud to admit it. It’s a pride issue.

GREAT analogy!! I might actually repeat it!

As this thread hopefully turns back to primary tax topic, I’d like to clarify one broadly tax-based political misrepresentation, that includes the accusation of buying votes, as was raised.

While all political promises made on campaign trails can be conflated as “vote- buying”, it is best to step back and look at whether platform promises are contrived on “the campaign trail” ... or whether they are a fair and square representation of ideologically-based agenda that existed apart from campaigning.

As a prime example, regardless of whether any reader here approves of Bernie’s agenda / ideology, his platform has not been contrived and developed on the campaign for POTUS trail. Like the ideas or not (and I don’t buy some of them i.e. free college, and cancelling student debt) he is pitching what he has advocated for as much as 40 years in politics at local city and state levels as well as at national level as a sitting senator long before running for higher office.

Point being: throwing these generalizations around without thoughtful analysis is, well, bulltweet.

A proposal by a controversial incumbent to lower electorate taxes just immediately prior to an election requires no extensive analysis. It’s known as populous pandering. But some others do similar, true.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled debate programming.

Yes, if $1.5M is too poor for California than thats my case in point in the other thread about bragging about high wages in CA. I still love south OC, go to the orange county forum if you want to read. Not sure what this has to do with this thread. And why you are using personal attacks.

Both sides are offering money to voters. Just different groups. What's different about the recent tax bill is that it has an appearance of raising taxes on those in states that did not vote for Trump. A big part of why the GOP lost congress was losing seats in the states targeted by this bill. No party can have power of they punish their own voters who happen to live in a state they don't dominate. That's why the House is composed the way it is...

Yes this I can agree with, although this primarily affects high income earners only, at least in California. It puts pressure on those states with high state income tax to either lower them or be voted out or vote put someone else in the White House.
