This gives you the right to use deadly force on a criminal who breaks into your residence in California.

It says that as long as there no contrary evidence, you will be given the benefit of the doubt if you shoot a criminal who breaks into your home.

Quote:
Any person using force intended or likely to cause death or great bodily injury within his or her residence shall be presumed to have held a reasonable fear of imminent peril of death or great bodily injury to self, family, or a member of the household when that force is used against another person, not a member of the family or household, who unlawfully and forcibly enters or has unlawfully and forcibly entered the residence and the person using the force knew or had reason to believe that an unlawful and forcible entry occurred.

As used in this section, great bodily injury means a significant or substantial physical injury.

But we're most likely to be shot.

but worst fear is assuming someone is a burglar, and BAM, you just shot your spouse..

First and fore most is teach people not to be so trigger happy. Which is why this whole pro gun stance can feel pretty sketchy. There needs to be more regulating and background checks aswell as mental examinations.

And above all, education.

I think it’s better to teach criminals not to break into other people’s houses

Many city politicians, including mayor yoga pants, have histories of marginalizing property crimes. Simply put, they subscribe to political theories where the underclass is abused and therefore justified in theft and vandalism(except when it comes to the politician themselves.

So good luck in City of LA with anything regarding protection of property or even self defense.

Just saying, you have a right to shoot and kill a criminal who breaks into your home. You don't have a right to shoot and kill anyone else in that moment except for the criminal.

Why do you feel the need , it justify those, breaking into other people’s house?

Your objection seems to focus on Hispanics “most likely “ to get shot.

Simple solution, do NOT break into other people’s houses!

No, he's not saying "hispanics" are most likely to be shot.

He's just saying that if we start shooting criminals who break in, we may start shooting our own families on accident. That's what he means by "we". Ourselves meaning law abiding citizens of all backgrounds.

No need to bring race into this. The far majority of all latinos and african americans are law abiding citizens who are also afraid of crime. But are sensitive to stereotypes as well.

Crime is in the heart dude. When you see a criminal in your home at night, it won't matter what color he is before you fire away. They all bleed red.
