Notice how it’s not in the top 10 for people leaving, or people coming into?

That story really doesn't mean much since we are only talking about 1 moving company.

I just read that a Uhaul from San Jose to Las Vegas is $2,000 but from Vegas to San Jose was something like $125.

There are lots of ways to move. I bought a enclosed trailer and have already bought my next home just sticking around for now because I have to.

A better questions is, why do they care so much about people moving from California? I wouldn't care if 10 times the amount of people moved out.

LOL...Don't worry the California bashers/haters will have a good explanation for this

The Great California Exodus reminds me of a popular news article a couple of years ago called "California" America's Greece when this state was in a recession

If people were truly leaving California in droves, you'll see many abandoned towns/cities along with a negative population growth, and our economy would be going downhill, and i'm sure our housing prices would be dropping as well also.

California's population is approaching 40 million and our economy continues to grow and yes their is still lots of traffic and a high price tag for homes in our major cities...Sure doesn't sound like an exodus to me,but as always, someone will find something negative about California and magnify it and make it seem like the sky is falling or it's doomsday

The States Gaining And Losing The Most Migrants -- And Money | Newgeography.com

2016 article, but it says that California's lost 1.75 million in domestic migration since 2000. Foreign immigration and their high birthrates are the only thing keeping it from losing population overall. Its been going on like this since the 1990s but by all means keep waving your pom poms.

Sure their are people leaving the state, but others make it seem as if it's a Mass Exodus or A Declining/Failed State.

I'll always remain Optimistic about California,so yes I will continue to wave my pom poms today, tomorrow and the next day as well

Texas has the highest rate of foreign-born population growth in the country. See page 12.

The "great California exodus" is a bit like that Mark Twain line: "reports of my demise are greatly exaggerated."

I've lived in California since 1985. I remember when I told folks back East that I was moving here they all told me that people were leaving California in droves and that the state was teetering on collapse. Thirty-three years later, California is still here, and so am I.

The wonderful thing about America is that there is a place for everyone. If California is not the right place for you, I wish you all the best in finding the place that is!
