Hi, my family is looking to relocate to a warmer climate, and we were considering Tracy because my husband's company is there. Is this a good area to raise a family in? I used to live in Monterey, CA in my 20's, as well as in the Lancaster and Palmdale area, but never this far up the map. How are the winters here?

Also what areas around Tracy would be good to live in, any bad areas? Thank you.

Consider the new planned community of Mountain House five miles from Tracy. Its very new (just started in 2001), has about 14,000 people now and is a nicer, safer place to raise a family. The weather in the area is basically hot summers, mild springs and falls, cool winters and 13" of rain a year.
