Any thoughts or rationales on when the burst is supposed to happen in CA?

Why not a lovely newer 2-bd condo in Oxnard? Within your budget, and the air is better:

LOL!

Because I've spent 12 years in MV and am familiar with it. I.e. "no surprises".

tomorrow evening.

First question though is, why do you think there is a bubble in CA? Just because you can't afford it, doesn't make it a bubble.

Since California has chronically undersupplied new housing construction for almost 40 years now, the bubble will burst only if/when the economy goes down or there's some kind of catastrophe like an earthquake. If the economy goes down, you might not be able to hold onto a job yourself; and nobody looks forward to an earthquake or other disaster, so be careful what you wish for.

Sure, it's possible large numbers of poor and middle income Californians will say "Forget CA, it's not worth the cost" en masse and leave. But, human nature is such that most people are like you....they don't want to move unless things get really bad for them. They are all hoping someone else will move so they don't have to. So the exodus of the working and middle class remains a steady stream instead of the tidal wave that it would need to be in order for prices to come down.

Yeah, it's what the crystal ball says. I haven't looked at the Magic 8 ball yet though.

I have been on this earth longer than probably any of you, I sold real estate in So Cal for 10 years and I see no reason for anyone to think the bubble will burst anytime to be truthful. OP, if you wait long enough the prices might stableize some but bubble burst, not likely in your life time. Don't hold your breath.

I simply don't even understand why someone like this even uses the term "bubble" (probably the most overused term out there). By what measure is it a "bubble"? It sounds to me like the OP either can't afford to buy a home or doesn't want to pay market price, therefore it's a bubble.
