Every where you look in California - North, South, inland, etc. is so expensive!!! Why???

Supply and demand - (basic economics). Stop by a public library and pick up a book on introductory economics.

Once you get away from the coastal urban areas it is not expensive. But it you want to live in LA , San Diego or the Bay Area, then yes it is expensive.

I live in a nice part of CA and houses are 25% of what you would pay in LA or the Bay Area.

I agree, there are many areas that are not in the population centers, where the cost of living is cheaper. CA is a vast state.

Same here. And the quality of life is 200% better (IMO).
