Of course it did, but that was intentional (we both know that).

1st report at 8:30 PM only 3% report 6 is winning thank God.
If we should be so fortunate and we win Democrats are going to have a full heart attack plus a load in their pants. They will go all out to try to find votes to change the results, or a way around the voters wish somehow.
Remember if 6 passes they can't raise gas or car taxes ever again with out voter approval.
If 6 fails they can continue to raise the gas and car tax any time they want.

Prop 6 lost. Now there is damage done. I hope Xavier Bacera goes to jail for defrauding the voters when he colluded with the Democrats to word the title and summary to confuse voters. That is next on the agenda. Take the SOB to court.

Sue when they don’t get their way. The California way. Oh but if 6 would have passed, the wording wouldn’t be a problem, LOL

True, I feel many people are easily manipulated by simple wording...

Jerry Brown's statement is classic simpleton-speak:

Quote:
“People know you get what you pay for,” he said. “We have built hundreds of thousands of miles of roads and highways, and you got to keep them fixed up. Everybody knows, if you don’t fix your roof, it leaks.”
Sounds very sensible on the surface (which explains why so many people fell for it), but does nothing to explain WHY the extra tax is needed. Yes, roads need to be maintained, and yes that costs money, but why exactly does there need to be an increase in taxes?

Fun facts:

- We have the 2nd highest gas taxes in the country
- Our highways rank 42nd in the country for 'Overall Performance and Cost-Effectiveness'

That's a problem.

I've only got about 13 years of driving left to go and thats if I'm lucky.
So most of you are much younger and have many years of driving. Pay and pay and pay you dumb, and for nothing.

Because we apparently didn't do enough to repair the roads when we needed to. At least now they can use the funds from SB 1, which would not have been the case if Prop 6 had passed.

"Our state has $130 billion in needed road repairs – more than the entire state general fund. SB 1’s investments are based on the principle set forth by President Ronald Reagan when he increased the federal gas tax in 1982 – that those who use the roads should help pay to maintain them.

It costs eight times the amount to completely replace a road than it does to regularly maintain one."

In 2017, the storm damage--hard to believe in this drought--caused roads, bridges and highways to crumble. Caltrans’ emergency repair bill for 2017 went from $150 million per year to more than $800 million.

It's too bad that we have multiple threads on this same proposition, because much of this was discussed before.

What is it $1.50 per full tank? I think i can take it after Trump took thousands away from me by capping SALT just so he can lower corporate tax during record low unemployment times. People should be driving electric anyway so we could see the mountains more than twice a year.
