I like to see large commercial projects like that. The work is skilled, high paying and usually union, unlike residential construction.

It is booming in the Los Angeles area. I was amazed by all the construction going on.

In Ventura where I work we completed our new 355,000 square foot, 6 story replacement hospital in December. Down the street from us the County completed a new 5 story hospital.

In Oxnard new retail is going in at a fast pace. New 5 to 7 story apartment buildings are going in as well. People have moved into the first and second phase already. It is awesome to watch.

Curbed LA noted in 2017 that Downtown LA's construction boom is the biggest since the 1920s.
