Seeking a list or names of entire towns in California which are off-grid.

I am only aware of Iowa Hill. Thanks

Most off grid areas are not within city limits, so you should be looking at counties. Del Norte County, for instance, has a decent population that is off-grid.

I agree with NMSFM. If you're looking for land, you're going to have to look far to the south and the north but be ready to deal with either extremely hot summers or mega storms in the winter. It's also wise to have a whole lot of money. You'll need a well and power to pump the water up. Solar is good but you still have to purchase the panels and those aren't cheap. Add to that, a converter, battery and converter. You can still find undeveloped land in the state but just be sure the county it's situated in doesn't have a boatload of regulations telling you what you can or can't do with it. Check out Slab City. They're doing it but it's certainly not a place I'd want to put down roots. Good luck.

I am not placing any restrictions such as they need to be, or not, within city limits.

Trinity Alps Preserve

Not sure how you're defining "town." There are definitely communities that are off-grid, but they aren't really towns, per se.
