Plenty of California is at risk of wildfire, so make sure you are not merely trading one potential natural disaster for another.

I never agree with this poster except one time, but 100% agree Barstow is not a nice place at all.

Any suggestions on a town are appreciated. Thanks!
What is your budget?

There are plenty of quiet rural areas in California, but we need to know your budget.

And, what size town would be big enough for you? 5,000 people? 30,000? 100,000? A million?

Also, are you OK with some snow every winter, or do you want a more mild climate? Do you want a lake or the beach within an hours drive, or are you OK with a desert environment? Is being close to a major airport important to you? Hospital and medical facilities? Jobs?

You can find three acres of land in quiet areas near all of the above throughout California.

But, let's start at the beginning -- what's your budget for three acres of land?
