President Trump has a lot of typical NY'er traits. Some good, some not so good. To me he reminds me of "a" Uncle Don who's a good hearted loud mouth and no one is safe from his opinion.

I'd rather have big mouth opinionated president Trump, than someone who acts like a kinder gentler phoney. We had that for 8 years, likeable fellow who couldn't see beyond his ideology.

Bernie Sanders is about the same with a different ideology. Loud mouth NY'er who appeals to different cross section of society.

Too funny Dave. Coupla interesting key words there:

“Good hearted” (perhaps you were being sarcastic?j

“Phony” ... other than most politicians being varying degrees of “phony’, um none have ever been comparable in “phoniness” to the present Liar in Chief at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Bernie “about the same”? Again, you have to be joking. (Speaking about NOT phony, btw ... like Bernie or not, call him nuts or not: there’s never been a less phony / more consistent for a lifetime politician than Sanders.)

Those are feelings... and what they are today will be different tomorrow. Point being... don't evaluate anyone by feelings, evaluate by the product.

Bernie has done nothing in his entire life.

“Feelings”, Dave? Trump’s entire life is public history (except his tax returns, lol). The incredible list of his failures and lawsuits, cheating clients, partners and consumer public is stunning. Those aren’t “feelings”, Dave. Those are factual examples of a severely disordered individual who is a pathological liar. The consistency of “today” and “tomorrow” for that guy is that it is all a continuous fabrication.

As for Bernie, like I said: like him / agree with him or not I don’t care. Not my mission to be his salesperson. FACTS are: he is the most consistent politician maybe in the history of the nation. You can go back 30 and 40 years and find him saying / promoting the same ideas. The point you brought up wasn’t whether he was successful at getting his agenda enacted ... your point was to compare him to lying Trump. There is exactly zero comparison.

How some politicians may leverage their positions after leaving office has exactly zip to do with “the purpose of government”.

Similarly, politicians who find illegal ways to develop wealth out of their “public service” are not executing the “purpose of government”.

The point remains: though critically symbiotic and necessary to/for each other, the purposes of government and business are diametrically opposed. Being a businessman and bringing business skills / acumen to public office is not any more valuable to executing government than the other way around. That said, a person well balanced in both disciplines and knowledge might prove excellent. In the case of Donald Trump, he’s not been successful or knowledgable at either. And he’s a cheat and a liar at both. His business background is not at all a story of quality ethics nor at all a good ROI on the monies invested. He’s been a charlatan and conflater and liar since his father first gave him millions to squander. And now he’s squandering American primacy and honor.

Congratulations voters who thought he would be otherwise than he’s proven.
Didn't Mitt Romney kind of fit that description? However people didn't vote for him 'cause he was Mormon and wore magic underwear..........or something like that, and he was going up against a very popular incumbent.
In your opinion TM, who would you like to see be president? Do any of the current candidates fit your description of "well balanced in both disciplines and knowledge?"

Lol... "the most consistent politician in the history of the nation". Joe? Joe Biden? is that you? Lol... dear lord put the bottle down.

Maybe if you like a socialist revolutionary. I'm sure Nicolas' Maduro would agree.

So far, my interest is strongly attuned to Andrew Yang: Freedom Dividend / Compassionate Capitalism / MATH (Make America Think Harder Again) guy. He does not, however, have any political background. Just business and science (and math, lol). As he’s been pointing out: if you want the opposite of Trump, try “an Asian guy who likes math”. Sense of humor goes a long way with me, you know

Who said anything about Biden? I challenged your declaration that Sanders is similar to Trump. Trump is a pathological liar. Bernie Sanders has been saying precisely the same things since he was in college. Like him or not, I don’t care. But there’s zero comparison to the Liar in Chief.

Joe Biden was a joke... sorry it went over your head.

Bernie has been telling the same lie "forever"... the lie of socialism. Either your convincingly obtuse, or blind ... as in, none so blind who will not see.

Not over my head ... stupid and irrelevant.

Don’t care how you view socialism. Couldn’t care less. You are simply evading the point of my response, speaking of being obtuse. Sanders is one of the most consistent politicians in the country’s history. Differ with his ideology as much as you want. Call it what you want. He doesn’t / never has lie(d) about himself, his business dealings, his intentions, his philosophies, women, associates, whatever. All those things are the exact opposite of DJ Trump who is a liar, thief, cheat, sociopath, moron, narcissist ... and a dozen more qualities unfit for office.

Whether Sanders is fit for office is not my point. Your comparison of the two is my point.
