I know there is the good and bad to being a democratic/blue state. Seeing the homeless issues, hospitals going broke having to eat free healthcare for illegals, the housing crisis(incidentally about 1.8 million units short yet California is home to ~3 million illegals), taxes on top of taxes on top of taxes on top of taxes, are voters looking hard at making any changes? Not looking to start a post full of drama that will end up getting locked, just want to get an idea where a majority of Californians stand.

Yes or no, and why?

It looks like you don't live in California.

If you did, you might know that California is not as "blue" as misinformed people like you believe. It is most liberal around Los Angeles and San Francisco, but head away from those areas, and you'll find plenty of conservatives, and conservative view points.

Keep in mind that while Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Walters represent parts of California, so do Devin Nunes and Kevin McCarthy.

There are also 40 million people living in California and 57% of registered voters in California are NOT registered as Democrats.

So you're not going to get an idea of "where the majority of Californians" stand by asking stupid questions based on your own set of faulty stereotypes.

Nice try at trolling an entire state though!

It is pretty interesting to see that the majority of folks out there have this view that California is ALL about Socialism, Liberalism and giving everything away for free when at least half the people in the State (mostly outside of the LA Metro and SF Metro) don't have that view at all. The media concentrates so highly on the people and their trials from the LA and SF areas that are probably the MOST infected with the issues of the day. Welcome to the Left Media Bias. They will brainwash them every time

I agree with most of your post except, in my experience, it is actually the Right-leaning Media that continually floats this idea that California is nothing but liberal socialist Democrats and that the entire state is going to h*ll in a handbasket. We're not, on either score.

Other than that, good points.

Keep in mind it is the people the voters elected, and CA is blue in that way, they are the ones passing the laws the Op was concerned about.

Ever since CA became a Dem super majority and elected idiot Gov Newsome there's a lot of population that can only yell into the wind. We don't have a voice here at all. Even the news channels and newspapers in So cal are liberal biased.

That's absolutely true. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I have opinions about states where I don't live too. I don't waste my time posting on their forums telling them that everyone in their state is XYZ or that their state is horrible, though.

One thing I've learned about other states from reading the California forum: it seems that mothers in other states never teach their children that it's best to just mind your own business when something doesn't affect you.

I'm asking because that is all we see on the news(Liberal central, homeless poop and needles in the streets, free everything for illegals, and the like.) This post wasn't meant to troll anyone, just enlighten us. What's it really like? I don't feel like we get the real information from either side of the media to be honest.

I get the impression reading the posts in this thread that supposed residents here don't think CA is a HCOL state?

WT...?

I've been here since '75 and the costs keep going up. Isn't CA now ranked as 11th for overall tax burden? Is that something to be proud of?

Here in SD, we consistently pay close to #1 in fuel costs. SDG&E just quadrupled the basic connection fees. The water district raised rates when we were under mandatory conservation cuz we did as asked and saved water.

And Money Grabbin' Gavin is flinging freebies around which come out of my pocket.

I have loved living in CA, but dang it gets harder to want to stay from a financial standpoint.
