Taxes aren’t really all that bad, the roads where I live are in great shape and the crime level is ok. People speak english everywhere I go, no idea where all the illegals are but I never see them. Like expatCA said it really depends where you live. The illegals are likely located in the poorer areas. The homeless, near the beach and city centrrs.

Because I lived in CA until very recently, for 3 decades, living in cities, and spending lots of time in rural CA. That enough qualification for you?

Exactly! As my mother used to say, "if you're not happy here, you won't be happy there". I think most of the obsessive California bashers moved out of state and are still unhappy, or they are still in the state but project their misery on everything and anything other than their own bad choices. Why else would they feel the need to keep yammering on like they do?
