Oh my! In 2018 over a half million moved to CA from other States. This is a serious problem!

https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/real...BBnb7Kz#page=2

Population is down by 200k! Out of 39 million. What next? The great exodus? CA will shrink to nothing in 8000 years

I found it amusing we got a bunch of people from Texas and Arizona.

Those incoming folks will not find it amusing when they find their taxes will be stratosphere-higher under Governor Gruesome. It will be a rude awakening.

I’m bummed. Thread titled announces that “691,000 moved OUT of California in 2018”. Then I read and it’s moved IN to California.

Please make them leave

Hopefully, they're all conservatives fleeing for the humid, crime-ridden South that I'm escaping from.

No, the thread title is correct. The 691k figure is people moving out of California to other states.

501k moved in from other states.

And additionally 283k from other nations. So....sorry Tulemutt....there is a net gain re those amounts...about 93k. They didn't give the number of deaths and births, but the overall net gain was just under 29k, not the 93k.

I saw this story on the rotating wheel on the MSN homepage and decided to jog on over to CD to post a link in an existing thread. It cracked me up that there was already an existing thread.

All these Democrats and Liberals are moving to Texas and Arizona and Florida and Georgia and Nevada slowly turning all the Great Red States Blue. NOOOOOO!, Then the Liberals will take over America and we will lose our guns and freedom. I blame the conservatives always bashing California. If they stopped bashing California, then they wont leave their state. Stop bashing New York, too as they are leaving to the red states. Why are people so stupid. Keep them in their state not spread them around. Why you so dumb?

Your post makes no sense. For the record, I live in CA and recently bought a Glock after a background check. Background checks are a good idea btw. No one is taking my gun away per the constitution. I also have other protected freedoms. If owning a gun is your reason for living, consider a move to Cali,a town in Columbia.

Yet another weird thread about something that really isn't that important, that veers immediately into politics (first big hint : the SECOND post in the thread uses the term "Governor Gruesome" - yeah, this is going to be a thread all about facts, and not at all about ingrained prejudices ... )

Population gain isn’t important to a state already choking on overpopulated strains?

I do agree this will devolve into “them against us” politically, unfortunately ... the real threat is just too many damn people ... not who they are politically.

Ah, but the wackos (on both sides) scream the loudest ...

I am a 4th gen Californian, and I have seen the population surge to about 250% the year of my birth. I remember being able to look across the SF Bay and the only thing blocking the view would be either the evening/morning mist, or the fog had rolled in - no brown-orange tinted smog layer (which is still there, if better than it was in the 1980s).

It is up about 1000% since my father was born in San Francisco, and a little bit less than that since my mother was born in Berkeley.

However, I don't think that there are too many *people* in California, I think that there are too many idiots in California - on all sides of the political and religious spectrum. This state would be sooooooo much better if we could get rid of about 500,000 of the worst. (Again, across the entire political spectrum.)
