Right. Er, wrong. Oh, whatever ... nothing to do with my point.

You’ve started 64 threads. Almost all in California forums. And every one of them is taunting ridicule of the state you claim to have left (if you were ever here). Not a single topic about: natural history, cultural history, humor, fascinating/odd trivia, positive advancements, congratulations for things well done by the state or unique residents ... etc.

Just taunting ridicule and personal boasting.

Such a treasure. Hilarious.

Apparently, the OP would prefer that no financial preparedness was undertaken for wildfire control and that the devastating fires were just allowed to burn up half the state. This seems like a sensible and fair plan, that has its costs spread evenly, billing all electric customers only about $10. per month each.

CA residents already have some of the highest rates in the country, that $10 is just the tip of the iceberg for what's to come. Hawaii aside when it's all said done they will have the highest by a wide margin. The utility can't order a pizza without government approval, profits are set by the state and would be inline with other utilities across the nation. They should have some of the best infrastructure in the country but they don't because that money was spent elsewhere.

The higher rates are driven by a variety of things but the root cause is regulations. For example they import a lot of power from surrounding states which they are paying a lot for, it's difficult if not impossible to build any type of power plant in CA that is not renewable. In fact they are talking about closing even more plants. The contracts for renewable energy are much more than the fossil fuel industry. Last but not least undoubtedly regulators turned a blind eye to infrastructure issues to keep rates low to help hide the true cost of these regulations.
