And that’s why they’ll try again. They probably figure that in a presidential election more people will be out to vote. Since it was so close, why not try again?

How confusing. They are becoming quite skilled at presenting misleading propositions. Look at how the Gas Repeal Tax was advertised. Now this one seems intentionally mislead or confuse by naming it Prop 13. When does it stop?

There’s a few people where I work that insisted this was going to do away with the other Prop 13 and raise property taxes. You couldn’t tell them otherwise. I know it’s anecdotal but they’re probably not the only ones.

Maybe that hurt this thing too.

Uh, it kind of was trying to circumvent the actual real Prop 13. When you throw $26 billion dollars into the laps of taxpayers in the form of long term debt obligations, someone has to pay eventually.

Not to mention the Proposition would've made it far easier for local governments to sell bonds, which could in turn show up on that property tax bill.

I'm surprised California voters voted thinking about their wallets this time, they usually don't.

This one was bonds.

The next one (also titled the same way) does negatively impact PROPERTY TAXES for commercial landlords with certain characteristics - if that one passes, TAXES will go up - and SO WILL THE COST OF GOODS AND SERVICES, as landlords pass expenses on to tenants.

VOTE "NO" ON ALL "new" Prop 13s.

No no no! Was voting YOUR wallet, where YOU should pay for it. How greedy and selfish of them to not want to pay their fair share. Everyone knows that California needs more money and that taxes need to go up. Just don't raise MY taxes. The rich need to pay.

See? This shows just how dumb people are. They don't bother to read the information about it but still vote. Of course, I did vote no on it because I read what the financial cost to taxpayers will be over the next 35 years. And the interest rate on these bonds is nothing to sneeze at. I'm glad it was defeated.

You didn’t have to read much to see it was a school bond issue (again). I’m also glad it failed.
