Battery price and the cost of dumping the battery. The newer motors are 4 stroke. With all that and the lack of enforcing such a law I just don't see any compliance just like most other toothless laws here.

“ Green conservatism

Green conservatism is a combination of conservatism with environmentalism. Environmental concern has been voiced by both conservative politicians and philosophers throughout the history of modern conservatism with Edmund Burke (the philosophical founder of modern conservatism) in his Reflections on the Revolution in France quoted as saying 'the earth, the kind and equal mother of all ought not to be monopolised to foster the pride and luxury of any men'.[1]

...

United States
One of the first uses of the term green conservatism was by former United States Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich, in a debate on environmental issues with John Kerry.[14][15] Around this time, the green conservative movement was sometimes referred to as the crunchy con movement, a term popularized by National Review magazine and the writings of Rod Dreher.[16]

In the United States, the Republican Party is generally considered as the conservative party. Green conservatism manifested itself as a movement in groups such as ConservAmerica and the American Conservation Coalition,[17] which seek to strengthen the Republican Party's stance on environmental issues and support efforts to conserve natural resources and protect human and environmental health.[18]

The Independent Greens of Virginia (or Indy Greens) call themselves "common sense conservatives". The party, over the last decade, has run many conservative greens for local, state, and federal office. In 2004, the party gave its ballot line to Constitution Party nominee Michael Peroutka for president, and in 2008, once again placed the Constitution Party nominee Chuck Baldwin on the ballot as its presidential candidate. The Indy Greens call for balancing the federal budget and paying off the federal debt.[19]

The Republican Party had long supported the protection of the environment at the first half of 20th Century. Republican President Theodore Roosevelt was a prominent conservationist whose policies eventually led to the creation of the modern National Park Service.[20] Republican President Richard Nixon was responsible for establishing the Environmental Protection Agency in 1970.[21]

More recently, California Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, with the support of 16 other states, sued the federal government and the United States Environmental Protection Agency for the right to set vehicle emission standards higher than the federal standard,[22] a right to which California is entitled under the Clean Air Act.

Democratic President Bill Clinton did not send the Kyoto Protocol to the U.S. Senate for ratification, as he thought it unfair to the United States.[23] President George W. Bush also publicly opposed ratification of the Kyoto Protocols on the grounds that they unfairly targeted Western industrialized nations such as the United States while favoring developing Global South polluters such as China and India.

In 2000, the Republican Party adopted as part of its platform support for the development of market-based solutions to environmental problems. According to the platform, "economic prosperity and environmental protection must advance together, environmental regulations should be based on science, the government’s role should be to provide market-based incentives to develop the technologies to meet environmental standards, we should ensure that environmental policy meets the needs of localities, and environmental policy should focus on achieving results processes."[24]

The George W. Bush administration,[25] along with several of the candidates that sought the Republican Presidential nomination in 2008,[26][27][28] supported increased Federal investment into the development of clean alternative fuels, increased nuclear power, as well as fuels such as ethanol, as a way of helping the U.S. achieve energy independence, as opposed to supporting less use of carbon dioxide-producing methods of generating energy. John McCain, who ran unsuccessfully for President in 2008, supported the cap-and-trade policy, a policy that is quite popular among Democrats but much less so among other Republicans.[29]“

politicians making problems when there is none - typical with both parties -either they take our money or create crisises when there isn't any to get headlines

The best California legislation or ban is the ban on making schools/school districts make up days lost due to force majeure since 1990s. I guess it was probably done as a reaction to the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake. I am surprised this is not something other states follow. Many other states still force their school systems to scramble to "make up" days lost to bad weather. Though only to make up time not learning (yes it sometimes means holding school open just for kids to play games and watch movies to satisfy the number of days requirements) But alas this legislation stays in California. Almost no California school districts build in make up days in their calendars either.
The other two good bans are the bans on use of unmarked cars for routine traffic stops, (not detective drug stings), which is a major safety issue in states where its practiced as there is no way to tell whether its a cop or a crook in a decommissioned yet authentic-looking used patrol car who bought a siren, lights, and a badge from the internet looking to rob or kidnap you. And the ban on Civil asset forfeiture.

Though most progressive policies spread globally, just Californian's are often used as Guinea pigs for pilot programs due to their political makeup, doesn't matter whether the results are good or bad fake good results are often used as gospel to spread it to other states/countries, just a matter if the politician makeup there will give in.

Its interesting though the state claims itself as pro immigrants, but they keep adopting policies are making life hard for immigrants whether legal or illegal to earn a living or run their business. Many immigrant's sweat and blood run businesses end up having to close down during the recent years due to the state's political correctness.

I have the 40v cordless Ryobi lawnmower, weedeater, and chain saw. Love the mower and weedeater, but the chain saw sucks compared to a gas powered one. The 40v mower battery lasts about an hour, long enough to mow a quarter acre lawn. It goes through heavy grass as good as a gas mower. No more gas smell or plug replacing. It's super quiet too. Lowes carries several brands of battery powered yard equipment. One drawback is that the batteries are EXPENSIVE!
Actually, even though I have all the battery powered lawn tools, lots of times I go really green with these guys.

Please enjoy their company before they get banned. Cows are responsible for emitting some sort of gas (flatulence?) and they are BAD for the environment. Once cows get taxed out of existence in the name of saving the planet, horses will be next.

"Cows are ruminants, meaning that microbes in their multichambered stomachs help them digest by fermenting their food. This process produces the powerful greenhouse gas methane, which gets released into the atmosphere when they burp."

Yet they seem to make it much worse with their idealism but everything is about being trendy and politically right. Politicians around the world follow in order to impress the International community or avoid getting media shamed for not following suit.

Democrats only pretend to cuddle immigrants, when in reality they are just using them as pawns, and immigrants usually follow each other like sheep as they don't know better.
Many immigrant operated businesses and restaurants are closing down left and right due to excessive Democrat driven policies during the past few years that makes their business too costy or impractical to function. They are not immigrant-friendly in terms of legislation as the users of such lawnmowers and leaf blowers are 80% immigrants who make money off these machines these days whether they are legal immigrants or not. There are much better ways to control global warming and climate change than their dumb idealism via the "stick" method that do more to hinder the working class but do little if anything to help the environment. This may be an unpopular opinion to some but Progressives are really making climate change much worse with their idealism they are not heros as some people think they are. And Democrat ideas don't stay anywhere they will eventually reach the UN who would in term push governments all over the world who were a signitory of the Kyoto Convention to follow suit.
