Glendale has the right idea.
They're set to turn campuses strictly into childcare for families who have no other options.

Superintendent Vivian Ekchian said she came up with the idea after noticing that many young children of essential workers didn't have proper childcare when schools were forced to pivot to remote learning in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

"We learned very early and during the pandemic that our parents who are essential workers, parents who could not work from home or parents who had multiple kids, had a dire need for childcare," Ekchian told CNN

It would be nice if everyone tried to remember these "covid cases" are actual human beings getting sick with the virus. Ya'll act like they're just numbers on a chart and then find enjoyment in arguing over which state is doing better. Not a gdamn one of them is doing that great, not as long as there's one active case. Truly sad

It has to do with safety. And many others besides teachers can become infected.
