Congress is extremely divided. Some Democrats want Biden to go around that, and they score points with their supporters just for asking.

Just do a quick search under "flights cancelled due to Covid", Thousands cancelled during this holiday season. Even the steps they take to stop or at least slow the spread do not seem to be working.

I still remember when people were stockpiling on masks during March of 2020. But those “experts” are telling people not to wear them.

It appears for a long time it had been settled that only n95 or their equivalent which name is different in each country Ie in Korea it’s KF94 used by medical staff, KN95 for Chinese hospitals, would do any good to help stop COVID from entering or exiting or spreading in and out of the user. But due to the global undersupply of masks they tend to hide the truth and initially told the populace to not wear masks and to lockdown for a few weeks instead. Even a few months later they recommended clothe masks to cut down demand on masks and to reduce single use waste. Which I believe it’s likely the reason they announced that COVID does not spread via contact. That had severely cut down on the demand on gloves and sanitation wipes, as well as allow movements to restrict single use products which was pretty much suspended officially or unofficially via company decision since March to resume enforcement. And the ban on reusable items were lifted as well as bans or charges on single use items in many corporations.

There was a few months when medical staff had to use the same mask more than one day which had been a long health safety unacceptable practice but there wasn’t much alternatives when there wasn’t new masks available.

If masks work, then why don't they work?

They do work. The do not 100% stop the transmission, they reduce the likelihood. Nothing is 100% effective.

We’re in a new phase on the pandemic. The problem is not really about people getting really sick and dying, the problem is that, because this is so contagious and there is a quarantine period, it’s creating mass staffing shortages across all industries. The CDC, rightly, shortened the quarantine period for that reason. We are clearly dealing with a much more mild version of Covid and we shouldn’t be focusing on case counts or having people out of the work force for 10 days.

We can hope it will go away. remember about 1/2 the current cases are Omicron and just a bit less are Delta, so people still get the really bad one. It isn't just Omicron. The contagion is quicker and in most case milder with Omicron, but there are still serious cases and some deaths. Hopefully it will be going away to an even milder state very soon.

There is no way to measure maybe, might, could, perhaps. They either keep you safe or not. It's simply binary. They obviously don't work because the evidence is there. People getting sick.

Forced. How would you "force" someone? You do realize people own firearms.
