By late this month, there should be a major drop in cases, and maybe soon after more treatments available to the general population. Plus, more people will be boosted.

People going unnecessarily to the ER is for the government to address. Complaining about it here won't stop any worrywarts from doing that.
It's going to spread either way so why keep people home who can function normally.

And how is the govt supposed to address that? The problem is the hypochondriac mentality a lot of people have that many posters here continually exhibit.

Because maybe more than ever, slow the spread. Then businesses and schools don't get overrun by symptomatic illness and more treatments and more people boosted like I said by the time they're exposed. More time to recruit new employees, also.

The government can give the message, through TV ads and more, that hospitals are not for urgent testing unless recommended by one's doctor.

It's funny how the narrative has shifted to 'those masks aren't good enough;use these instead'.

The state's own directive said that a tshirt hiked up over your mouth and nose was sufficient. This of course after being told originally not to even bother with them at all so as not to impact supply for medical use. It's no wonder nobody believes *anything* anymore. And for the record, this is coming from a guy who dutifully wears a mask all day long at work so spare me any lectures, please and thanks.

Of course, this won't work for you because you don't want to wear a mask at the gym. Nevermind the fact that you're protecting others in the community, if its a minor inconvenience for you, it's unacceptable.
Asian countries also have a zero tolerance of any crime while the U.S has about 20 percent of the population exempt from almost all rules, let alone Covid restrictions. If 80 percent of the Bay Area population locked themselves inside their homes for 2 months with all the supplies they need (making deliveries even rare) the other 20 percent (who can’t even be stopped from looting (the ghetto ones) or having lavish parties (the elite politicians and Hollywood stars) would continue to spread it. Which would mean the majority of law abiding people would be locked inside for decades (entire lifespan) waiting for Covid to go away while the non law abiding still spread it. In any Asian country, looters and protesters can be executed without due processing. So how would you handle such a contradiction. Should the U.S also become more like Asia when it comes to crime and allow police to actually enforce law by all means?

I do think the US should enforce crime more seriously. I'm a proponent of stronger gun control and more serious punishment for felonies.

He’s probably at some lavish ski resort with his mistress staying out of public radar due to his failures and the fact the he has to accept that herd immunity is the only solution left after the failures of the vaccines in preventing this surge (cases are triple what they were last year at this time when vaccines were only available to medical personnel).

The local LA TV news in fact just ran a story discouraging people from seeking urgent care for testing/mild symptoms. Ambulances being forced to wait for bed space to open up.
