Curious about work-from-home precautions due to the corona virus at CA State Government Agencies. In my agency, it is well-run but so far there are no orders to work from home. Most IT people can work from home if necessary, but they're so strict at the state, very "old school" really. Any word on yours?

For those of us stuck at home for the next two weeks, it's going to be interesting.

California has no specific statutes directly regulating telecommuting. Private employers should have written agreements with all employees who telecommute, as well as signed safety self-certifications for the home office.

We are being forced to work from a remote location, but not at home. I guess they want to ensure we all don't die at the same time and leave the company without revenue.

When I worked for the State, they were always suggesting we work from home . I hated it! I was only ten minutes from work anyway and I resented having to find storage space for the STATE'S property, plus having to use MY computer on State business. Some people liked it.

Just got word, we get administrative leave tomorrow. Really it ought to be two weeks quarantine to be effective. But we'll see when we check in tomorrow after 5PM. Apparently there were a few cases who tested positive.

It took 8 weeks for China under more strict measures than we are taking.
