There are underlying systemic weaknesses in California. You will see them on full display for the next 5 years.

Oh thanks for the heads up Nostradamus! Meanwhile, what about this failure of “analysis” you just made with regard to the company expanding to Tennessee? And where’s your defense of why the readers here should use your 11-year metric?

Next bs?

You're welcome.

I have one of the most accurate prediction records on this website. I may miss a couple but on the big ones I've usually been mostly correct.

Kind of like your statement that "DACA is dead; good riddance"?

Paper work error soon to be corrected. Funding not given in the CARES Act stimulus package, Gone with the wind.

I actually don't mind DACA as long as it's paid for through other means, e.g - mostly private.

24 Hour Fitness to close 20 California locations as Covid Lockdown continues

Quote:
The 24 Hour Fitness has filed for bankruptcy protection and closed many of its gyms — including 20 in Southern California — as part of a bet that a smaller company with less debt can overcome its business challenges.

The company said on Monday, June 15, it will reopen its remaining gyms as part of a plan to retool the chain in a competitive business climate made on tougher by mandated business restrictions and consumer fears due to coronavirus.

And still you avoid answering the questions I posed about why you posted a business expansion as a “job loss” ... and why you would suggest an 11 year recovery trajectory as a metric for a healthy economy hitting a public health speed bump. To say nothing of why you can’t figure out the time zone for Argentina when you claim to be engaged in “after siesta” meetings there?

Gee. Have you posted this important sign of state mismanagement and demise in the Texas forums yet? They are closing 26 there. Oh, and by the way: it’s a Chapter 11 to restructure and reopen ... not a permanent closure. Do you know the difference between Chapter 13 and Chapter 11? Most business people do.

24 Hour Fitness files for bankruptcy, closing more than 130 locations
See the full list of clubs closing in California, Texas and other states.

... The clubs will reopen with enhanced health and safety measures in place, including “a new workout reservation system and touch-free club check-in” as well as “stringent cleaning and social distancing protocols,” the company said.

Gym chain 24 Hour Fitness filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Monday but expects to remain operating – and reopen most of its locations – during the process. ... “If it were not for COVID-19 and its devastating effects, we would not be filing for Chapter 11," Chief Executive Officer Tony Ueber said in a statement.

I know enough that I've never had any of my businesses have to file for either.

Easy if you’ve had no businesses to fail. That aside, you didn’t answer the question. Again.

Another example of posting failure.

Nothing unique about California here. (Texas, with lower population than CA, has more locations closing. Colorado with 1/7th the population of CA has 13 locations closing. Washington, Utah, Florida, and more have multiple closures.)

The locations aren’t closing permanently. They are restructuring.

The (temporary) closures have nothing to do with any of those states’ management.

This is a fun thread
