"Many" is nebulous and anecdotal, when you convert the actual numbers to % of population or the number of people who have contracted Covid-19, the %s are very small (.4% of those who contracted it will die).

There's very little, affordable way to make cars appreciably safer. There's nothing nearly as simple as wearing a face mask. I think it's moderately comparable to mandatory seat belts (until, with some luck, a vaccine negates the need for ordinary people).

You have no idea what you're talking about beyond the very small percentage of people who die, but any medical professional now knows there's a significant, yet-to-be calculated percentage of 'survivors' who have a lengthy, very unpleasant experience that probably was avoidable (without "cowering"). You are putting philosophy over common sense.

Has anyone heard what the procedure will be for claiming a medical exemption for mask wearing? There's obviously potential for widespread abuse if there's no documentation involved.

Good question. I’m going to ask next time I’m at the store. I’ll bet they aren’t allowed to ask for proof.

In the meantime, this is a good place to buy masks. California company with fast shipping. I’m not affiliated with them, just a satisfied customer.

except unless there is an exception under the order which there is. If person have medical condition that prevents him/her from breathing with mask on, they can't be required to wear a mask.

A way around quizzing people claiming to have medical exemptions is to lower the limit on the total number of customers allowed in the store when some aren't wearing masks. Then shoppers will feel pressure to wear masks and the government can easily identify and punish stores that violate limits.

It's not that simple, e.g., mandatory vaccines. I'm guessing there's a public safety clause re ADA that can make some lawsuits over it unlikely to proceed.

Think again hotshot. The county health department can close down any business in California that they deem to be unsafe.
