Move out of California? Hell No!

I'm a product of the 1970's.

I've inhaled more smoke at Steely Dan Concerts than all this shiet combined.

There's no place that doesn't have at least one of the following: fires, earthquakes, excessive heat, excessive humidity, excessive winter cloudiness, hurricanes, tons of mosquitoes, snow and ice, long winters, short winter days.

I grew up in New England and the cabin fever wore me down by February and March far worse than the smoke here has.

What about the Canary Islands ?- they don't have any of that. Hell they don't even have canaries.

My daughter moved to the upper Midwest and her town is cleaner, low crime and very low taxes. It rains in the Midwest and huge wild fires are practically non-existent. And, at her young age, in her 20's she was able to purchase a home. I rather doubt a young person in California could do that unless they lived in the boonies.

In addition, the weather is four-seasons and enjoyable. Her garden did well this year and she had vegetables that rivaled anything i can do here in California with our hot temperatures and poor quality and expensive water. Many of my plants just curled up and stopped producing in the 100 degree days we had.

So, yes, California is the golden state but with the influx of so many people it is fast becoming the India of the West Coast. And sure you can run to other parts of California that are more sparsely populated but, you give up amenities such as better health care and services.

California does have its attractions. But, lets have half the population, or 20 million of our closer residents, head for greener pastures? I mean literally, greener.

That's right! They don't have canaries either.

What are people thinking?
Some will. Truthfully lots of places haven’t been rebuilt for the last fires we had. I think a lot of people are gonna take the insurance money and gtfo of here
