I won't believe California is going down until I see property values going down. It's just not happening.

SF Chronicle posted sobering numbers regarding SF... everything from vacancy rates, business closures to transit agencies massively in the RED..

Not just a California thing as similar in other major metros with the "Winners" being rural and semi rural locations as people leave great cities behind

In my rural area we are seeing a lot of Sale Pending signs as working from home is the new normal. No need to live close to work for many. Have one friend who is employed by Apple. He used to spend four nights a week in the Bay Area, but now works from home a mile from me.

He continued, "Look, I came out here in 1983. I found paradise. I love California. I do. I don't want to leave, but I feel like I’m living in Italy in the 70s or something. Super high taxes, potholes in the road, fires. I don’t know what I’m getting for my super-high taxes."

I like Bill Maher as a COMEDIAN...and I like that he is takes on both the left and right in his commentary.

But I'll leave economic or policy analysis to people who are actually qualified to do so.

Bill made a similar comment about high taxes in California 7 years ago which you can watch in the clip below. Doesn't appear he is in rush to leave.

The one part of his comments that I agree with are are on roads....California's rank in road maintenance/quality is below average. We should get more bang for our buck that we are getting.

Yep, no loss at all.

Not terribly impressed with Joe Rogan either. He seems like a nice enough guy but he is often way out of his league with some of his guests. Appears like he is too busy hitting the bong and not preparing/reading ahead to interview/question his guests in an intelligent/informed manner.

Trump is a buffoon and a blathering idiot in my book. Yet even a well managed Covid 19 crisis was going to lead to a sharp drop in economic activity. There is no getting around that no matter who is Governor or President.

One of the great enduring stupidities of the American presidential cult is the belief, rooted in deep ignorance, that the state of the U.S. economy at any given moment is a reflection of the intelligence and wisdom of the chief executive of the federal government and a result of the excellence or insufficiency of his or her administration.

The belief that GDP growth or this month’s jobs report provides a meaningful judgment on the performance of the president isn’t economics, it is superstition. It is the modern version of the ancient belief that a crop failure means that the king has displeased the rain gods.

The Trump cult are among the biggest participants in this myth but I am not going to play that stupid game with them.

It’s pretty obvious that a lot of Californians don’t care if Rogan, Shapiro or Musk leave but I bet Newsom is going to miss their tax dollars

Joe Rogan Is worth 100 million dollars

Ben Shapiro is worth 20 million dollars and leaving with 75 employees of his successful business The Daily Wire

Elon Musk is worth 93 BILLION dollars and the 4th richest person in America

Last week Newsom was begging people to stay in Ca. It’s not working......

It all political. I would be surprised if these People paid any taxes at all. The rich always find ways to avoid taxes even in CA. It’s us middle class shouldering the burden like usual.
