I like Schiff or Becerra, but I think he may feel pressured to replace her with another woman, maybe a woman of color.

From what I hear, Schiff is not especially well liked in the Democratic Caucus.

I wonder if Susan Davis or Scott Peters are in contention? I'd think Katie Porter would be a rising star too.

My hunch is that it will be someone who is Hispanic from Southern California. 2/3 of California population is from Southern California and both current Senators and the Governor are from Northern California. None of them are Hispanic.

Loretta Sanchez was the runner-up to Harris in 2016. It might be deserved.

I still think Toni is the dark horse here, even as she is not the Latino (Latina) that many want, her steady, consistent leadership where she was anointed temporary governorship and LGBTQ angle gives her an up over others with Gavin.
