Surprised Newport Beach is dominating. Does this Forum have a lot of Conservatives like in Newport Beach or something?

It’s dominating the poll because it’s an awesome place, and unique compared to the other choices since it has a harbor/bay too.

The Newport coast is exceptionally beautiful, and it's adjacent to even more beautiful Laguna Beach.

Yes and far less of a homeless problem and traffic. The traffic in Summer can be bad, but if you live on the Newport/Balboa peninsula, who cares.

Let's dissect that statement for a moment. Let's see...."Europe" includes some fairly fringe-y places. Bulgaria? Turkey? Georgia and Armenia? Oh, and how could I miss the most obvious candidate: Russia! OP, are you an oligarch's son? It's ok, you can tell us. We won't reveal your identity.

This reminds me of the South of France. My in-laws have a house in St Jean Cap Ferrat, which is next to Nice. Ever been? You'd love it if these are the criteria youre looking for.

In California, Newport Beach is definitely the closest equivalent imo to that sort of Mediterranean coastal resort lifestyle.

Compared to Manhattan Beach, but not Solana Beach? Although traffic can get bad when the Fair is going on and selected races at Del Mar.
