"24/7 Wall St. created a weighted index of over two dozen measures from the U.S. Census Bureau, the FBI, and other sources to identify the best city to live in. We considered all boroughs, census designated places, cities, towns, and villages with at least 8,000 residents."

They claim to have “created a weighted index of 25 measures that fall into one of four categories: affordability, economy, quality of life, and community” to come up with the list….and Manhattan Beach was #1. Thanks for the link. I reviewed all "Top 50 Cities." One thing I noticed is that the 5 year unemployment rate is very low. This tells me that people that are working, don't have time to commit crimes.

Well, how about that....

I picked Newport Beach because I'm the most familiar with it and the surrounding area. That doesn't mean it's the best.

You may pick only One. Please say why you would pick it.

Is Newport Beach Conservative?

Yes. I saw more Trump signs and flags on boats in Newport Harbor than anywhere else in OC.

Both are safe areas close to the ocean, highly desirable areas, with great climates and lots of things to do close by. Newport Beach and Manhattan Beach are both conservative areas.
