Very little crime. No homelessness. Sunsets, beaches, throwback burger joints, people cruising in their cars listening to the Beach Boys and Kenny Loggins. Beautiful blonde girls riding around in roller skates. The whole surf city vibe. Is there any place that still exists?

Yes, and it will cost you to live there.

Nobody does roller skates anymore, except maybe in Golden Gate Park in San Fran. But the Boardwalk and beach in Santa Cruz still has a little of that vibe. No homelessness along the beach, people cruising by in cars (no sure about the Beach Boys), college boys and girls playing volleyball on the beach in their bathing suits.

And don't forget the redwoods! Ya gotta check out the local redwood forests, if you're going to visit NorCal.

Not sure on this one. Probably listening to podcasts in their P-cars/F-cars.

Check (Roller blades, actually.) Winter, they'll trade for ice skates.

When I first read the thread title, before clicking on it to read the OP, I thought someone was hoping to see something from the old days of Mexican California, with dusty military outposts and cattle ranches, lol. There are a few historic sites around, that preserve some of the old buildings, but otherwise, all that is long, long gone.

LOL. That's what I thought too. Which is what Knott's Berry Farm was originally for: to see the Old California. But it's just an average amusement park now.

OP, Venice Beach got cleaned up recently. From the videos, looks like much of what you long for.

No 100% guarantee on the homeless thing, though. They're everywhere -- and I mean EVERYWHERE! -- unfortunately...

Cruising isn't really a thing these days and nobody has listened to that music in decades. Maybe if they have a "1950s" themed fundraiser at the local Elks Lodge or Moose Lodge or the Kiwanis Club?

You might hear Kenny Loggins in an elevator at the Westin in Costa Mesa? Doubt it though.
