How far away are los angeles county and orange county?

Specifically the Northern Tip of LA county from Orange County.

This will sound like a weird question, but does anyone work in Fullerton area and live in Santa Barbara County area, Ventura County area, or LA County area at all?

I really like those other counties a lot and would like to live in one of the others...

However if the position that my husband has interviewed on comes through in OC county then I am not sure how far this would be for a drive or even if people there make that type of a drive for work....

Thanks

If you're asking about commuting from N LA county to the OC I think you might be in for a long long commute. last time I drove from OC to Burbank in the middle of the day it took over an hour.

I'm so glad I don't have to drive in So CAl very often

Fullerton to say Ventura is 90 miles. I have seen shows where there are people that commute unbelievable hours a day but I don't think you want to be one of them.

And its not so much the distance as the fact that LA, with all its traffic, is in the middle and too big to go around.

There's no way I would commute from Ventura County to Fullerton!!! That sounds like a recipe for pain to me... I've briefly commuted from Camarillo to UCLA and hated it.

That said, there are people who commute from Santa Clarita to LA.

Personally, from Ventura County, I would only commute eastward as far as Calabasas.

Oxnard to Fullerton is 2 hours by Metrolink, assuming you can make the connection at Union Station. Driving will be much slower.

What are you looking for, specificially? Anything north (well, northwest) of Fullerton along the 5 is pretty crappy for miles and miles. There's lots of nice areas to live around Fullerton that don't require a hellish commute.

From the northern edge of L.A. County or from Ventura County, you have to drive clear across L.A. County to get to Fullerton. I would not recommend this as a regular commute. I live in Kern County just north of the L.A. County line, and it takes me about an hour and a half to two hours to get to Fullerton, and that's not during rush hour. Commuting across L.A. County is not something I would recommend at all. Commuting from Santa Barbara would be even worse, because not only would you be commuting across L.A. County, but you'd have to add crossing all of Ventura County, too. The only way I can think of that Santa Barbara to Fullerton would even be conceivable as a commute, would be in a private aircraft.

You can live in parts of Los Angeles county and be close enough to Fullerton, but Ventura County even at the eastern/southern portion (say Thousand Oaks, Westlake, Oak Park) is just not doable unless you are a glutton for punishment, the traffic is horrible and even without it, it's a long drive.

If you are tied to Fullerton by work, best off to go south into Orange County, for sanity's sake.
