I finally got my dream job in SF and I now need to move from LA in less then a month. I'm not sure where to look for a place to live but I would like to be outside the city, maybe the North Bay. I would like somewhere that I can afford a 2 bedroom place for about $1350 and is pet friendly because I have 2 dogs. This is a little overwhelming, so anything would be helpful. Thank You

best place to start looking would be craigslist.

in the north bay, i have lived in vallejo. the commute will likely be about an hour+ as there is always traffic when i commute the reverse way (SF-->vallejo). vallejo isn't a great culture hub and the west side is rough. housing is slighly cheaper there, but only slightly. other areas in the north bay are fairfield and napa, but you will increase your commute time even more.

another option would be to live close to a BART station in the east bay and take BART in. www.bart.gov

A lot of people like Berkeley. Lafayette is great, there are a few small towns around, plenty of good hiking.

Saucelito, Tiburon,, take the high speed ferry across.
