i'll be graduating in december and i'm planning on moving to either arizona or california. I'm in business so I'm just wondering what major companies are located in the bigger cities and areas (LA, SD, SF, OC). Also which companies hire the most recent grads?

Be specific.

What kind of companies and which big city are you interested in. If you expect someone to list all the major companies in all of the major metro areas of California, you might have a long wait.

UMMMMM.... this state has over 30 million people. We could write a novel about the major corporations throughout the state. It would be nice to know what kind of job you are looking for. If you are an engineer for example, I doubt you want us to recommend Bank of America in San Francisco and would maybe prefer Northrop Grumman in LA. If you want to be in the technology industry and work with computers, I doubt you want us to recommend Occidental Petroleum and would maybe prefer the Silicon Valley.

Basically, what type of job do you need???

HA! Okay yeah I should have been WAY more specific. I guess I kinda worded my original question wrong too. I'm gonna be graduating from K-State in December with a major in Sociology, not business, but I realize that without getting a major in Sociology I'm not going to be making money. I was originally in business marketing and I still plan on going into sales, which is a good transition from the sociology field, especially since I'm definately what you would call a "people person". The companies that I'm the most interested in are the ones that drive the fields of technology in computers (both PCs and the new cell/smartphones). Also I guess you could call me a bit of a hippie as I'm also very interested in companies who are good corporate citizens, taking care of both the community (probably because of all the sociology classes) and the environment. The hippie-ness is mainly why I'm choosing the more liberal minded west coast. The companies I've been most interested in so far have been Motorola, Qualcomm, and Dell (actually in Austin) though I'm just starting the job search. I can use all the help I can find! I've been researching hard but it's very difficult to search for companies in Cali and AZ big cities when I live in KS. I know there are plenty of smaller companies other than the Fortune 500s that are similar, but they're a lot harder to know about without help from you, my wise cyber friends!
