Of course you know the idea behind license plates is to make it easy to identify the vehicle for law enforcement. Blue numbers on a white background are very easy for law enforcement to read in all kinds of light.

How unromantic.

Hah I don't think we need to have "pretty" License plates for people to know how beautiful a state it is... compared to other states, like a few people have said "try to hard".. Oh and all of California is soo different, You can't fit an image of palm trees, mountains, beaches, desert areas, lakes, LA area, San Fran area ..and so on, all into one license plate. Because if you have a license plate that is all sunny and has palm trees that doesn't really apply to how it is in northern California.

One of my cars still has the black with yellow writing license plates. And, no... I'm not old enough to remember when those were the official plate of the state.

people in long island new york were like "he from caliiii!!!" when they saw my plates driving through

lmaooo...dumb suburb people
