Wow... I see a lot of "formers" there, but very few prominent folks currently office. Maybe that says something about just how much the current bunch of crooks enjoy the status quo.

Democratic politicians seem to enjoy their majority. Republican politicians seem to enjoy being the powerless underdogs. I guess the only people who really want things to change is EVERYONE else.

This prop costs money, but hey, I'm willing to pay it for the chance that things will change.

Let's call a spade a spade. There's no reason to restrict this comparison to just unions--they spend most of their time actings as PAC, not as a collective bargaining unit for their members. The CCPOA is one of the most corrupt and wasteful political groups in California.

bumping this thread because I want to know why so many people voted no to this and ending gerrymandering

The vote is practically a split decision. Are the people who vote no to gerrymandering just trying to keep out the other party?

Seems odd that someone be against it. Was the Yes vote split between all the parties, or largely just one party?

Yeh, I know it happened a while ago, but whatev.

Just something off topic than the original gerrymandering prop 11.

How did you guys vote on the new prop 11?

I was reluctant to vote on this one as I believe voters are mislead by powerful companies who uses scare tactics to make voters believe they might not get an ambulance when they need it. They just want to save
Money by making already overworked EMTs/medics work overtime rather than having minimum staffing available at all times. Nothing stops EMTs from working overtime voluntarily.

Interestingly though many cities and counties stopped contracting with AMR and either chosen another company such as Rural Metro or just used the fire department after AMR decided to hike contract rates significantly back in 2010. AMR was pretty much the Universal first responder in most places prior to that date.
