I was born in San Mateo; my mom was born in Compton, and my grandfather was born in OK but came here when he was 2. I'm very proud to be a Californian and love my state. I've lived in several other states and foreign countries and I don't think any of them can compare with life here. I know that there are problems but I appreciate people with California pride who work to solve our problems instead of dirting on the state and threatening to move all the time. For the record, all of you California haters who love to post here, do us all a favor and move. Gloat all you want about your 5-bedroom foam mcmansion in Texas. So what, you live in Texas now. I live in California.

Totally agree What I don't understand is that those who complain the most about California don't seem to be all that anxious to move. And some people post negative comments about the state & live elsewhere or have never been to California.

Like yourself, I have lived in other states & have thoroughly traveled the nation. There are many interesting places in the U.S. but none compare to what we have in California [mostly good & some bad].

I was born in Northern California, and god willing I'll die here. My family has been in El Dorado county since the gold rush, and I'm 22 now, so what does that make me? A 5th or 6th generation Californian?

Strongly agree too! And after living in Texas for 13 LONG years, I see that the grass is NOT greener on the other side and I am beyond eager to return!
