My husband and I are considering a move from the Philadelphia area for employment in the Danville area. We have a 1 month old and are searching for the best area to live outside of $$$Danville. We are used to a very family friendly lifestyle and enjoy social acitivities of such. If anyone has any suggestions of nice fam-friendly communities we would love the input

If you want affordable, you will have to commute from the Stockton Manteca area. The Danville area is pricey

I agree with the above message. Danville, San Ramon, Dublin and surrounding area are pricey. Check out Tracy or maybe Mountain House to the east.

Affordable and family-friendly rarely coincide.

For this area of Cali, how much/little - at least for renting a home- does $2,500-$3,000 get you?

For the surrounding Danville area- say a ten mile radius, how much/little does $2,500- $3,000 get you in renting a home?

You could probably find a decent 3 bedroom home in south San Ramon or central Dublin for $2500 to $3000. Tracy and Mountain House would take an hour to commute.

Having recently moved to the area from Valley Forge I am familiar with the territory. San Ramon definietly has some decent places to rent for $2500-$3000. With the market now, you might even be able to buy something for that much! I would avoid Tracy/Mountain House, etc. They are quite hot and offer a much different atmosphere than Danville/San Ramon do.
