Good discussion Soon2b and CA central coast - maybe both categories Ocean View and oceanfront ought be listed, I'm sure there are lots more people than I - who might want this info. Once upon a time everyone seemed to want to live on the Cal coast- traffic, pollution and taxes have taken their hit in demand. I wonder how the market for oceanfront/view houses will hold up. I do believe Cal has not hit bottom yet.

A few years ago, we stopped to look at a house in Summerland in a brand new development overlooking the ocean. And the 101. (Summerland is south of Santa Barbara). The views were breathtaking but the noise from the freeway was so bad we had to shout to hear ourselves while out on the deck. The asking prices was 1.1 million. Someone bought it, of course.
