Only necessary for the unimaginative and unmotivated. There is great climbing, kayaking, backpacking, festivals, farmers markets, local live music, and some fantastic restaurants, not to mention some of the most beautiful unspoiled beaches in the country. But that's fine, the more people who think that Humboldt county is a dumping ground for pot smoking hippies, the better. We wouldn't want the real truth to get out, or the place would be overrun! Keep thinking there is nothing to do here and that all the growers are out to get you. It's fine with the locals.

So, I can assume that oranic farming is the way to go up here? All of this talk about growers and such it must be a very healthy place?
