I was born in Oceanside, CA 17 years ago. Me and my mother left the state of CA and currently live in AR. What has happened to Oceanside? has it gotten bigger in 17 years? The thing i miss about CA is the donuts! and Weiner sneitnzel or watever. My dad lives in Oceanside. still doing drugs. now i just want a dad!!

Oceanside has probably grown since you left....I personally like the city, but it gets a bad rep. It has the most affordable coastal living in SoCal, in my opinion, and a chill vibe that I like. You are probably better off in AR though. The state of CA is broke and has too many problems to even list. If you miss it, come visit, but I don't recommend moving back, at least not right now...any other questions???

I've lived in Oside for about 20 years and it is definitely better than it used to be. Downtown by the beach is all new. Lots of cool shops, restaurants, offices, condos, etc. During the summer everyone takes the Sprinter to the beach. (the Sprinter is the new commuter train line that goes between Escondido and Oceanside.)

The only bad place in Oceanside is near Brooks St. and the backgate. Oceanside HS even is better. My kids go to Vista HS and it is a ghetto there.
Oceanside is really focusing on being tourist, business and family friendly. I only wish we had more restaurants closer to east Oside.

Yes it is still pretty by the coast, some areas have a "gritty" feel, which I don't mind though, because it adds character
