Hello all,

I'm currentley living in Canada, but I don't think I can stand winter anymore...I love the sunshine. ( : I have allways dreamed of living in California because of the warm weather and beautiful landscape.

My husband and I bring in about 180,000 a year. Does anyone know of the best locations to live in Southern California?

Thanks alot,

from a cold canuck...

you'll be able to live comfortably anywhere in CA on that salary. however, comfortable is subjective, so it really depends on what you want. a smallish apartment near the beach is comfortable to some, while a 5 bedroom house with a yard is comfortable for others. also make sure that you can gaurantee your salaries once you move here, not only is it expensive, but the economy is really tanking right now, finding jobs is difficult for most people. i'm sure its not an easier for non-citizens.

Check out the Coachella Valley. Lots of "snowbirds" here from Canada.

I am glad you going to be oat and aboat! lol couldn't resist that one.

Anyway, in my humble opinion, the two best small towns based on lots of research appear to be:

Arroyo Grande
Healdsburg

The former is central coast and the latter is north (But not too north of San Francisco).

They both have small town goodness, great climate and proximity to good services.

My 2 cents.....

Where will you be working?
When do you expect to move?
Housing budget?
Kids? Ages?
Do you anticipate that salary in California?
