There are many places were personal freedoms still exist...
A friend moved to Texas and built a beautiful home... NO PERMITS REQUIRED
Same for another that moved to Alaska...
Just came back from a Ranch in the Bay Area Hills above San Jose... it looks like a picture postcard and was all build without permits 90 years ago.
Even my (Old) home in Oakland only required an Electrical Permit when it was built because of safety...

It's not the states as much as it is California with its perpetual,"we know best, we will control you, you're not smart enough to be on your own" nanny government.
Of course, I expect to see more federal control and restrictions under the current administration since its "leader" spends more time preaching to us and the world than he does governing.
But California has a huge head start in the over-lawing, over-regulating department.

YES! It is actually the safest option.
Research is showing that even the using the hands free devices does not really reduce the chance of accidents by much.
I'm sick to death of people being constantly plugged into their cell phones.
