Just a random question, what would you say are the most well-known Southern California cities (nationwide) besides San Diego and Los Angeles/Hollywood/Beverly Hills?

Choose from these:

Santa Monica
Anaheim
Burbank
Newport Beach

Am I missing other big ones?

Anaheim (due to Disneyland, Angels, Rams, Ducks)
Burbank (Southwest Airlines, Lockheed, TV Studios)
Santa Monica (Closest Beach to downtown LA, pier, near Venice)
Newport Beach (Wealthy, Home of Orange Coast College Crew, one of the best crews in the US even though they are a JC, believe it or not. We at UCSB could never beat them.)

Big ones you are missing

San Francisco
Oakland
Sacramento
San Jose
Fresno
Long Beach
Santa Ana
Bakersfield
Stockton
Riverside
Modesto

You would be surprised how many people from the northeast really don't know anything about SoCal beyond LA. San Diego, OC, IE are off the radar to a large segment of the national population. Disneyland, to an outsider, is in LA. People might recognize the name Burbank from Johnny Carson mentioning it but have no real idea what or where it is.
