I've been reading "Post's" for hours now....and I'm ready to jump in. Looks like I will be moving from Redding, CA to Eureka vicinity. I'm bringing my two dogs, the Corgi and the St Bernard. I'd like to rent, I need to sell my 1-1/2 acre with 1600sqft home. I'm concerned about finding a place that will except my two pals. I'm used to driving 20 minutes each way to work but will do what it takes to keep the family together. I would like to keep rent under $1000. I'm an old lady with a young heart and mind. I do not like 215/460, I've seen too much heart ache from it. With that being said.......Where should I start looking for housing?.....BTW....you guy's are scaring me!!!

Actually I have not said I hate Humboldt county. I have mentioned many times how pretty it can be. We loved getting fresh crab and Salmon. You can say what you want, but there are many on these boards that do not like a particular area, be it So Ca, Humboldt County, Sac, SFO or whatever as well as those on other city-data boards that will always find the thread and knock the areas. That is their right. When I see someone like that, regardless of how I might feel about other threads they have posted, I take their remarks about the area they do not like with a grain of salt.
If I had started a post, blasting Humboldt or any other place that would be meaningless and stupid and you would have a point. But I am only responding to those who ask about the area..Could you explain why this bothers you so much?
