I wanted to get some honest feedback on real life experiences anyone has had with trade schools. Like the ones in the Fresno/Clovis area, such as IOT, Kaplan, etc.. I have been looking into the Medical Assistant program- front and back office. I like how the programs are 8 months. But are they any good and do employers actually hire graduates from there?

Hi greetings from NYC...I'm in the process of an "amicable" divorce (married 22 yrs.) I'm considering moving to Clovis/Fresno sometime in Sept (after my retirement).I plan to leave everything behind, except my good and descent clothes, few good pots/pans, dishes, and books. It's obiovious that I have to re-establish my whole life again and I am certainlty not a proud person , I hope to find a job and work part-time in order to supplement my monthly pension. Does anyone know of an "organization" or a family that wants to donate descent furniture/appliances to a lady like myself that prays and hope for a brighter tommorrow? My resources are limited and I have to work with what I have. Many thanks for your cordial attention and for taking the time to read my request. May the Lord richly bless you.

What does that have to do with the posters question? Start your own thread mooch!

To the O.P. The schools are decent but it will all be entry level positions and mostly part time stuff at first. It's a good start if that is what you want to do but just know it will be a couple of years before you are considered a "professional" by the doctors and other staff in whichever office you are hired. The school will teach you just the basics and it will be a bit of a shock when you are in the real world of it until you learn the ropes. Good Luck I hope it all works out for you.
