One thing I've noticed about California, it's cities in particular, is the high number of Hispanics living in them. I guess much of that is from immigration.

However, when I've visited Reno, Nevada, it seemed like everyone there was White people. Literally I only saw Whites in the casinos, but I did spot one Chinese driving around I think, but that was the only minority I saw.

My question: is California the only state with such a higher number of Hispanics? What about states like Oregon, Montana, Missouri or Wisconsion?

No, California isn't the only state with a high number of Hispanics. Texas runs a close second.

But, why shouldn't they have such a high number? After all, both states were originally part of Mexico anyhow! So was Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah and Colorado.

And, by the way, why is the number of Hispanics in any state a concern?

How many Hispanics in the US today have any connection to the land here when Mexico owned it?

Outside of New Mexico and maybe some parts of Texas, I doubt you'd find too many.

Personal connections? I'm sure none as it's been over 150 years.

However, I'd bet a good deal that many of them have family connections going back that far, just as many of the rest of us have family connections in whatever "old country" our ancestors came from.

Does that mean I have a right to show up uninvited in Ireland, France, Belgium, Croatia, etc looking to be supported by the government because long ago some of my ancestors used to live there?
