Actually, Craigslist is a lousy way to access rentals in Truckee .... at least from what i've seen on it.
I've been using this listing service which costs a bit but not too much.

Hi there,
Everyone left out Olympic Heights!! One of the best neighborhoods. It's small and no HOA fees!! My house is for sale, anyone takers? 3 bd. 2 bath, altho no master bath on 1/4 acre beautifully landscaped yard. My husband recently retired, our kids are grown and want to go where its a little warmer.
