Northeast Calif has many homes that rent for $600 or less a month. They are generally under 1000sq feet, but they are out there.

I wonder if there's anything else the California taxpayer can provide him. Free rent? Free car? This is why I dislike socialism. The more you give away, the more people arrive to take it.

I just saw your other post about medical needs, etc. Northeast Calif is very rural, so the health care you are looking for won't be in this area. The social services are also a bit lacking. Its mostly from being short staffed and having to serve counties that are so rural. Here are some names of towns, check them out, maybe they will work for you. Quincy, Portola, Chester, Susanville, Burney, Alturas, Beiber, Cedarville, Nubeiber, Herlong (not a nice place).

Redding, Ca also has afforable rents. Its HOT in the summer, but not a bad place to live.

Yes, Ventura is nice. Please tell us where in Vta there are rentals for $600/mo....and not a garage for $600/mo.

I left Vta in the mid-90's due to the ridiculous high cost of living. I do miss the ocean and the mountains, and many other things about CA...but not the insane price tag.

i looked it up on google earth. you should download that program. go to googleearth.com. then type in the address of that home and you can see the location. when i looked it up, it was near oxnard which is between the coast and the mountains. you really can't get far from the beach in oxnard
