Sacramento, CA (AHN) - The Golden State holds to the largest earthquake drill on Thursday, when 6.8 million people drop to the ground, take cover and hold on for a minute.

No roads or freeways will be closed during the drill, and participants will demonstrate the internationally recognized protocol for earthquakes - drop, cover and hold on -- wherever they may be for up to three minutes, the usual time a major tremor lasts.
