I was born and raised in California, and have visited many places in the US. Nothing could possibly drag me away.
I was laid off a few months ago, and having difficulty finding a job. Even so, I would rather starve in beautiful California than anyplace else...!

Floods also kill people ... especially those who are not the fittest.
Do we care only for and about those who are the strongest?
If a meridian is blocked and the energy is stagnant an acupuncturist very carefully and gently (if they are tuned in and skilled) encourages (does not force) the return of a natural flow of qi.
The more subtle the "level" the more subtle the mode of operation needs to be.
The extreme and not so subtle manifestations of the earth natures modes of clearing and balancing are a different story.
For one, they are not informed by attitudes and ideas of the human ego mind so they are trustworthy if not always kind and gentle.

People who live on flood plains, shouldn't

, even the Egyptians left the Flood plain as the Nile did its annual rise to replenish the soil. I do like the way you think, but I do prefer gnawing on half cooked haunches of elk while squatting at a campfire!

Anunidentifiedmale, as others have mentioned we have done these types of threads already.

Asking CA the question you posed is like asking our nation has the best years of our country passed? The answer is NO, things are just changing and are much different then I grew up. Can this state learn from its mistakes and make improvements, SURE IT CAN. That is why I can't say that the best years have passed.

Do you know how many people visit this forum for the first time every day? Hundreds. Maybe thousands. This is not a closed forum where only a select few get to decide what is discussed.

And it's a question that is ongoing, and probably always will be.

I think a strong case can be made that the best days of California ended with the American conquest. The rancho culture of old California was probably the best man can do on the planet.

Anunidentifiedmale, sure many people visit the site daily. But there are many threads like this that others can read if they want to, many. No one said this is a closed forum but these types of threads get OLD, there is nothing new in these types of posts and the same feedback and or reaction get reported! If people like you like to keep pushing these types of threads because for some reason you find it interesting then that is your choice.

Everyone agrees that state budget is dysfunctional, but, when polled about the one measure that hamstrings and disfigures the budget - the infamous prop 13 - the majority of voters believe that it should be left in place.

Conservatives think that the state is too liberal and it spends too much. Liberals think that conservatives have too much control in Sacramento and therefore the state does not spend enough (especially on K-12). Whites think that the border is too porous. Mexicans think that whites are too unfriendly to them.

End result is, everyone is unhappy.
That about sums it up. So much finger pointing but few with answers that the majority can agree on.

A California forum can only have so many discussions that aren't about this topic. That's just the nature of this forum, based on its structure. The long time return visitors will not like it, but the new visitors will almost certainly want to weigh in on it.
